     History of COPA Airlines

The National Carrier of Panama, Copa Airlines was founded in 1947. It began operations on aircraft Douglas DC-3/C47 in three urban areas in Panama. In 1966 the plane flaunted its first basic target, three times a week in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 1969 the first AVRO 748 was launched in Nicaragua and Barranquilla in Colombia to Kingston flights in Jamaica, Managua. The 1970s saw Cartagena, San Salvador and Guatemala as a part of a rising target system.

In 1980, the airline withdrew from the domestic market to concentrate on its regional expansion. That year the armada was joined by a Boeing 737-100. Through the course of the decade, the aircraft expanded its target network to include travel to Port au Ruler in Haiti, the Dominican republic, Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico in San Juan and U.S. flights to Miami. The aircraft became a Tocumen Global Air terminal from the main central station of Panama.

In 1992. Caracas services have been added in Colombia, Mexico City, Santiago, Chile, Cali and Bogota, Ecuador, Quito and Guayaquil, Peru, Argentina, Buenos Aires and Cuba.

A key partnership with Mainland Carriers was founded in 1998. The organization introducing its new identity as Copa Airlines in 1999 and launching One Pass, a standard client service. Around the same time, the armada of Boeing 737 Cutting Edge planes began to be revamped.

A subsidiary of Copa Possessions S.A., Copa Airlines started the New York Stock Trade exchange in 2005 and became the third major Latin American carrier to be listed on that important trade.

The goals of the project were: Argentina, Cordoba, Mexico, Guadalajara, Washington, D.C., and Dominican Republic, Punta Cana. At the same time, the number of its flights has been increased to seven targets.

Copa Carriers and Boeing announced that they have earned a total of about USD $2.6 billion from 32 Cutting Rim 737-800 airplanes, the greatest order for new aircraft in Copa Aircrafts 'historic history.
